Time is running out for covered employers (private employers subject to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with 100 or more employees; or, a federal contractors with 50 or more employees and a prime contractor/first tier subcontractor with a purchase order amounting to $50,000.00 or more) who are required to file the EEOC-1 Survey Report by the following deadlines:
- May 31, 2019 – submit Component 1 of the EEO-1 form. Component 1 asks for the number of employees who work for the organization by job category, race, sex and ethnicity. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has opened the 2018 EEO-1 survey for completion.
- September 30, 2019 – submit Component 2 (Pay Data) for calendar years 2017 and 2018. EEO-1 filers should begin preparing for the collection/submission of this data. We anticipate the EEOC will being to collect this Component 2 data in mid-July. The EEOC will notify filers of the precise date the survey will open. While the Department of Justice filed a Notice of Appeal earlier this month regarding this matter, the filing of this Notice does not stay or alter EEO-1 fliers’ obligations to submit Component 2 data.
