Professor Russ Norris is a retired Marine Corps Mustang with more than 22 years active-duty service. His operational service included Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope (Somalia), Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq), and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). Additionally, he has supported numerous Joint Task Forces across the Asian Pacific rim and the Middle East. As the Arabian Peninsula Branch Chief for HQ U.S. Central Command, Russ worked with partner nations from around the world to develop, enhance, and exercise their national capabilities in a range of targeted skill sets; Cybersecurity posture being one of them.

As the Director of the Cybersecurity Management program for Rivier University, Russ ensures a rigorous curriculum, augmented by real-world experiential learning opportunities, prepares the next generation of cyber operators to defend legitimate interests across the cyber domain.
